Raymond Martin (Chick) Cassidy, 91, of Bayville, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, December 24, 2018.
Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Raymond lived in Cranford, NJ for many years before settling and building his own home in Bayville, NJ in 1980.
Raymond was a bricklayer and master craftsman for over 40 years and belonged to the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local 8.
Raymond loved cheering on the Boston Red Sox, eating a fine fish dinner at the Sandcastle Diner, and making frequent trips to Atlantic City.
He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Cassidy (nee Uka), his son Brian Cassidy, a daughter, Kathleen Tevis; and his brothers, James, John, David, and Edward.
Raymond is survived by his daughter Christine Cassidy, a sister Regina Sweet and her husband Duane, his niece Maureen Hart and her husband James, his son-in-law Robert Tevis, including many more nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather 9:30 am to 10:45am on Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd. Bayville, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered at 11:00am am in St. Barnabas Catholic Church at 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville. Interment will follow at the cemetery chapel in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.
